Our client is a well-established furniture manufacturing company specializing in the large-scale production of quality furniture for residential, commercial, and institutional markets. The company operates a structured production environment covering processes such as material preparation, cutting, machining, assembly, finishing, quality control, and packaging.

Job summary

The Production Supervisor will oversee all day-to-day production activities, coordinate workflow across the production floor, and ensure that production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery timelines are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
• Allocate tasks, manpower, materials, and equipment according to production requirements.
• Monitor production output against daily, weekly, and monthly targets and address any delays or bottlenecks.
• Supervise, motivate, and manage production staff to ensure productivity, discipline, and adherence to procedures.
• Ensure furniture is produced according to approved designs, specifications, technical drawings, and required quality standards.
• Conduct regular quality checks and minimize defects, rework, and material wastage.
• Coordinate with Stores, Procurement, Maintenance, Quality Control, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Monitor machinery and equipment utilization and promptly report breakdowns or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce wastage, and optimize the use of labour, materials, and equipment.
• Prepare regular production reports covering output, productivity, wastage, downtime, quality issues, and production challenges.
• Escalate significant operational issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions to management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Furniture Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production supervision role, preferably in furniture manufacturing, woodworking, joinery, carpentry, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with proven ability to supervise and motivate production teams.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, production specifications, measurements, and designs.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of production processes, quality control, machinery, materials, and workplace safety.
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and consistently deliver production targets.
