Job Summary:
Our client is a leading investment management holding firm in Uganda, recognized for its innovative approach and commitment to delivering exceptional financial services is seeking a highly motivated Business Development & Sales Manager with a robust background in consultative sales of professional or financial services. This entrepreneurial role requires a proactive individual capable of originating, developing, and closing deals independently.
Job Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
- Proactively source and acquire new clients without relying on internal referrals, walk-in customers, or existing bank databases.
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives aimed at attracting high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors, and other key client segments.
- Differentiate the firm’s investment services from conventional banking products, focusing on customized wealth solutions rather than standardized offerings.
- Employ a consultative sales approach, educating and advising clients rather than relying on transaction-based selling.
- Prepare and deliver tailored investment proposals that align with each client’s unique financial goals.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships with clients through expert advisory services, moving beyond transactional banking interactions.
- Provide continuous, high-touch engagement with clients to ensure bespoke investment solutions and optimize their portfolios.
Sales & Market Strategy:
- Independently develop leads, manage the sales pipeline, and close complex investment deals.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to refine sales approaches and enhance effectiveness.
- Strengthen strategic alliances with high-value industry partners beyond traditional banking circles.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Business Development Expertise: Proven experience in business development and consultative sales within professional or financial services sectors, with a successful track record of independent deal origination and client acquisition.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building rapport with clients to establish and maintain relationships.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to identify market opportunities and formulate effective sales strategies, demonstrating a strategic approach to business development.
- Industry Knowledge: Preferred strong understanding of investment management or related financial services, with at least 5 years of experience in selling services focused on investment, financial advisory, or professional services.
- Education Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field; advanced certifications are considered a plus.
- Mindset: Proactive, self-driven, and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to operate independently without structured institutional sales processes.
